The Municipality of Odemira starts a new Participatory Budgeting process, the 11th edition. It is the oldest and uninterrupted participatory process in the country.
The Municipality of Odemira began a new Participatory Budget process at the beginning of April (ON), completely dematerialized and with the global value of 300 thousand euros for the proposed municipal, of a material and immaterial nature.
The OP process of 2021 begins with the proposal presentation phase, It's happening between the days 1 April and 30 June. After technical analysis, the voting phase will take place during October and November, where are the citizens to decide which proposals to be implemented by the municipality. All citizens from 14 years, residents, workers or students in the county.
The amount allocated to the Municipal OP process is 300 thousand euros, and 150 thousand euros for the projects promoted in the interior of the county parishes with less population 1500 inhabitants and 150 thousand euros for projects in the parishes of the coast and / or with a population of 1500 population. Cross-territory projects can also be presented. Each proposal, material or immaterial, must not exceed the value of 75 thousand euros.
Taking into account the pandemic situation Covid-19, the process is 100% dematerialized: Proposals must be submitted exclusively in digital format, by online page www.op.cm-odemira.pt and a digital Participation Meeting will be held, through video conferencing system. Voting will also be carried out via SMS and the online page dedicated to the process.
Projects presented in the areas of competence of the municipality are eligible, that focus on urban rehabilitation and urbanism, public space and green spaces, environment and climate change, urban sanitation and hygiene, road infrastructure, traffic and mobility, civil protection; tourism, trade and economic promotion, education and youth, sport, social action and health, culture and administrative modernization.
Streamlined continuously from 2011, The Odemira Participatory Budget is today the oldest and most uninterrupted participatory process in the country, now starting its 11th consecutive edition.
The Participatory Budget is part of the strategy of the Municipality of Odemira to enhance public participation, through positive and constructive factors, based on proximity principles, transparency and opportunity. A logical "Odemira county 100% ON", simultaneously with the Municipal OP, stem OP processes of Parishes, for which the municipality assigns the value of 10 thousand euros for each of the 13 parishes.
