Odemira: Gastronomic Week Octopus in the county.
The Municipality of Odemira will promote Gastronomic Week Octopus, between days 3 a 9 June, and has the accession 16 Restaurants in the county.
The participating restaurants are located in Boavista dos Pinheiros locations, Longueira, Odemira, S. LuÃs, Vila Nova de Milfontes and Zambujeira do Mar. The Southwest octopus can be enjoyed as a main ingredient, in various forms of confection, the participating restaurants.
Will be several octopus dishes available in the menus of restaurants and The Joshua John of Longueira (Longueira), Oasis (Furnas Beach), Iron source, Escondidinho Pit and The Tarro (Odemira), Bernardo and Jaime (Boavista dos Pinheiros), Costa Alentejana, Brewery "I", The Martin, SunSet and semicolon (Zambujeira do Mar), Sacas (Entrada da Barca), Task Largo (Vila Nova de Milfontes) and Destiltasca (S. LuÃs).
The octopus can be proved in many different ways: rice powder, em cataplana, octopus bolhão-duck, fishermen, Duck Bulhão, Lagareiro, frito, grilled, Baked, feijoada, stew, casserole, the tomatada, polvo Panado, carpaccio of octopus or the traditional octopus salad.
With this initiative the municipality intends to value one of the best products of Odemirense coast: octopus caught in the region, of outstanding quality and extensive range of culinary uses. Habitat specificity combined with food diversity gives the octopus Southwest Alentejo unique organoleptic characteristics in terms of texture and flavor, making it one of the most popular and sought after products.
