Opinion (José Lúcio / Judge): A new home for Justice in Beja.
As stated in the official statement issued at the end of the Council of Ministers made in recent still day Thursday 9 August the government decided to formally authorize the completion of the project necessary for the construction of a new Palace of Justice in Beja.

Partly as a result of distraction that is own station, where half the country is on vacation and the other half wants to be, and partly by a certain indifference to this kind of news (any scandal worth much more, journalistically speaking), the truth is that the news went fairly unnoticed, even in the ways in which you would expect a warm welcome.
And yet the event deserves to be adequately emphasized, the relevance that takes to the city of Beja and the administration of justice throughout the region.
from logo, it must be said that the initiative to build a new house of justice in this city – the pompous designation Palace, on the one hand seeks to confer some solemnity to what there is practiced on the other hand inculcates luxuries and perks that do not exist in all demure austerity that justice always lived – matched only in an already far-forties of the twentieth century, for many 70 year old.
Indeed, since the building of the current Palace of Justice in Largo Eng. Duarte Pacheco, ordered following a serious fire that destroyed the Town Hall and the facilities where the Court worked, never the judiciary Park in Beja had been benefited with any endeavor that adapt to the new requirements brought about by the trend of the times and their own judicial organic.
There are many decades to live in temporary solutions, of poor facilities, physical and functional dispersion. Since the era of Manuel Ferreira Knight never existed any substantive initiative to tackle the problems of installation of the various legal entities headquartered in Beja.
Just so the government fiat, which opens the way for the start of the procedure for launching the tender and for the conclusion of the respective contract, would justify wide prominence in the media bejenses media.
But it is not too much to add that this is an investment that does not easily find others of the same size in recent decades of city life, and much to enhance and enrich comes in urban terms and as unifying pole of a wider region.
I venture to say that since the opening of the buildings assigned to the Polytechnic Institute of Beja is not possible to indicate any other construction whose emblematic and representative nature has become the mark likewise the urban fabric of the city of Beja.
Obviously, for now we are still before expectations, and lack see the work to finally believe. However, We can not devalue what already exists - on paper, more there. are promises, protocols are signed, are government deliberations, are projects of architectural and specialty - everything is ready to move forward. Who has dedicated the last four years to insist that this idea a reality can not help feeling the latest developments with renewed hope.
It seems worth noting at this stage certainly justified appeal to the commitment and mobilization of local movers around the implementation of the project. Public opinion, translated in the regional media, has an important word to say to policy makers and other concentrated in responsible government services.
