a hunter, of 66 year old, today suffered serious injuries when he was hit by the alleged accidental discharge of another man's hunting weapon, in Ourique county (Beja), revealed the Civil Protection and the GNR.
The alert for the alleged hunting accident was given to firefighters at 13:21 and the man was rescued at the roundabout in the town of Santa Luzia, explained the District Relief Operations Command (CDOS) Beja.
The man suffered serious injuries to his body from the shooting., during a wild boar ride, on a farm near Santa Luzia and was transported by firefighters to the hospital in Beja.
A source from the GNR's Beja Territorial Command added that the injured “is under observation” in the hospital unit and, because it was a gun accident, the Judiciary Police was informed and activated to the location.
The victim, according to reports made to the GNR, got hit by a shot, that made ricochet, from another man's shotgun.
This man “will have fired a shot, but this one hit some rocks, ricocheted and hit the other hunter”, told the same source from Guarda.
for this occurrence, seven operatives were mobilized, supported by three cars, firemen, GNR and National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM).
