A hospital episode, involving a woman and her son residing in Ourique, revealed that she was infected with covid-19 and the infected descendant.
The situation led to the closure of the Ourique School Center (CEO), where the woman is an employee and the preventive placement of the student's class in School EB2,3 / S, affecting directly or indirectly, half a thousand students, teachers and staff.
Following a fall from the boy, that led to resort to a hospital unit, tests were performed on covid-19, and the detection of positive cases of mother and child, what caused the Public Health Authority to have the School Center closed and tests carried out on the entire community involved. In the case of Escola EB2,3 / S the class of the infected student was placed in preventive quarantine.
In a statement, the Mayor of Ourique said that the municipality "is carrying out rapid testing to allow the situation to be fully identified", recalling the cases of the contagion of Santa Luzia, the mayor says that this is “another start in the face of a risk that exists and persists”
Marcelo Guerreiro reminds his fellow citizens that Ourique “is not one of the 121 municipalities subject to measures plus two ”, challenging everyone to keep precautions “to continue not to be part of that list with more restrictions”, concluded.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, the municipality of Ourique has already 52 positive cases, two deaths occurred, one of which in the home of Santa Luzia, owned by Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Ourique and, where the main and most dangerous outbreak of covid-19 occurred.
