Reference of the Portuguese Rural World, shaped in time and traditions, boosted by a municipal appreciation achieved in the last two decades, Feira de Garvão is back.
After two years of interruption due to the pandemic, is back to Feira de Garvão, meeting point of the best of our traditions, of the marks of our identity and productive capacity in the interaction with nature and rural territory.
Of 6 a 8 May 2022, Garvão is once again a meeting point, expression of rurality, traditions and new approaches, with a program that lives up to the profile of the fair and the affirmation of a community committed to a sustainable future.
Along with living spaces, reunion and sale of regional products, the Fair will have several moments of affirmation of the rural reality.
Sixth, 6 May: 10H30 Awareness-raising action for the prevention of rural fires “Raposa chama”, for schools in the county, 11H00 Lecture “The future of the Garvonesa race in the genomic era”, organization of the Campo Branco Farmers Association and Prof.. Doctor Luís Telo da Gama and 1:00 pm Meeting of Garvonesa Breed Producers.
Saturday, 7 May: 11H00 3rd Alentejo Pork Alfeires Competition and 11:30 am Lecture “Added value of certification in agricultural holdings in the municipality of Ourique”, ACPA organization.
Sunday, 8 May: 10:30 XX Regional Competition of Garvão do Rafeiro do Alentejo, organization of the Rafeiro do Alentejo Breeders Association, 15H00 Cante ao Baldão Encounter, 16H00 Demonstration of work of the Cão da Serra de Aires, organization of the Associação do Cão da Serra de Aires and 17:00 Sheep Shearing Demonstration.
The Fair hosts a set of activities that are already part of the tradition, are marks of the special atmosphere that is lived in Garvão in these days of intense experiences.

Saturday, 7 May: 10H30 free riding, 14H30 Driving Derby Demo, at the Jorge d'Ourique Riding Arena and 5:00 pm Traditional Bullfighting, in the bullring Dr.. António Semedo with the Knights Filipe Gonçalves, Andrés Romero and Miguel Moura and the Groups of Forcados Amadores de Moura, of São Manços and Beja.
Sunday, 8 May: 10H00-18H00 Dressage Cup, at the Jorge d’Ourique Riding Arena and 18:30 Garraiada Alentejana.
The return of Feira de Garvão brings back the broadcast of TVI on Sunday, entre as 14 e as 20 hours, with the program “We are Portugal”, that will project the best of our Rural World and Ourique for the country and the world. Of 6 a 8 May, the destination is Garvão.
