Christmas came early for the Ourique BVO Volunteer Firefighters) who received an “extra offer” from a restaurant businessman in the village, no value 4.788 euros.
At stake is the gift of 532 meals that firefighters assigned to the Special Fire Fighting Device (TELL 2024), consumed in a restaurant or taken to eat in the barracks cafeteria.
Between June and September, from Monday to Friday, BVO firefighters on duty at DECIR 2024, they were responsible for paying for meals and had two alternatives, either they took it from home or picked it up at a food outlet..
Philip Antonio, of 43 year old, businessman in the sector, decided to offer operatives linked to firefighting teams (walking) and fire support logistics (ELAC), as 532 meals consumed by them and which totaled 4.788 euros.

“Every day we make a lot of food, which always ends up being left over. Firefighters have an even more difficult life during fire season. I spoke to the commander and made myself available to offer meals to the operatives”, adding that it is not the first time and will not be the last that “I will be available to help the corporation”, finished.
To this gesture by Filipe António, joins the commitment made by the Municipality of Ourique, led by Marcelo Guerreiro, that during or SAY 2024 took over, between 15 May and 15 of September, payment of meals for all operational staff who were on duty on weekends and holidays.
According to found the LN, the amount spent by the Ourique municipality was around 3.000 euros, “another financing that greatly relieves the institution’s coffers and helps our professionals”, justified the fire commander.
