Ourique: Serious injury truck screening, helicopter evacuated.
Heavy goods loaded with gravel, crashed into the IC 1, near Ourique. The trucker was imprisoned and was transported by helicopter to Lisbon.
The bursting of a tire may have been the cause of the detection of a heavy goods truck loaded with gravel that occurred yesterday morning at IC1, near Ourique Station, in this same county, causing a very serious injury.
The accident occurred just past 11,00 hours, at km 663,4, no sense Sul / Norte. The truck invaded the opposite lane, fell into a ravine and imprisoned the driver, sole occupant, that only two hours after the accident was rescued and transported by helicopter to the Hospital de São José, in Lisbon, in a state considered as "critical".
On site were 29 operational teams of Ourique and Castro Verde Firefighters supported by nine vehicles, VMER of Beja and military personnel from the Beja Traffic Detachment of GNR.
