Ourique: Municipality is hosting the 2nd Technical Conference on Sheep Production.


The Portuguese Association of Romane Sheep Breeders, with the support of CEBAL – Center for Agricultural and Agro-Food Biotechnology of Alentejo, from the Farmers Association of Campo Branco, and the Municipality of Ourique are promoting the “2nd Technical Conference on Sheep Production”, in Ourique.

With the theme “Efficiency in Sheep Production”, The “2nd Sheep Production Technical Days” aims to disseminate knowledge with impact on the sheep production sector, contributing to a more efficient sector, sustainable and capable of responding to the challenges that animal production, and in particular national sheep production, faces.

The “2nd Sheep Production Technical Days” today has a series of lectures at the Cineteatro Sousa Telles in Ourique, starting at 9:00 am. The lectures will cover topics relevant to the sector, such as nutrition, reproduction, healthcare, animal welfare, certification and records on a farm. To address this issue, The conferences are attended by several speakers from different national and international institutions who will share their knowledge and experience.

Yesterday there was a workshop to disseminate good reproductive practices which took place at 10am at Parque da Feira de Garvão.

Portuguese Association of Romane Sheep Breeders – in ProOv, based in Ourique, its mission is to promote, promote and protect the Romane sheep breed in Portugal, as well as defending and promoting the specific and sectoral interests of producers of this breed.
