The international jury meets this Friday to evaluate samples at the 10th International Extra Virgin Olive Oil Contest – Prize CA Ovibeja.
The members of the 10th International Oil Virgin International Virgin-CA Ovibeja olive contest come together in Beja in the days 7,8 and 9 May. Consisting of experts from various countries, The international jury will evaluate 141 samples from 11 producing countries. The panel of tasters is chaired by José Gouveia, Full Teacher Specialist in olive oils.
This year the olive oils presented to the competition come from Portugal, Spain, Italy, Greece, France, Croatia, Israel, China, Brazil, Argentina, Tunisia. As usual in this contest, that is integrated in Ovibeja, The disclosure and delivery of the awards is made during the Fair, which did not happen in this edition as a result of restriction measures against COVID-19, that forced the postponement of the tests.
It is recalled that the Extra Virgin Oil International Ovibeja Prize was classified this year in the 1st place in the Ranking of the World Best Olive Oils. The organization of the contest is the responsibility of ACOS - Southern Farmers Association and the Oil Oil Casa - Oil Oil Association.
