Ovibeja 2020: Will strengthen communication and knowledge about agriculture and the rural world
37ª Ovibeja will strengthen communication and knowledge about agriculture and the rural world. It will elapse between 29 April and 3 May 2020. The theme will join the topics to be addressed at the Second Congress Luso-Spanish Extensive Livestock.
"It was very positive balance of the 36th Ovibeja" that, increasingly, sees itself as a citizenship forum. Rui Garrido, President of the Organizing Committee also announced the date of the next edition of the fair: Of 29 from April to 3 from May of 2020.
The Ovibeja is the stage of discussion and analysis of issues on the agenda, as it happened in this issue, on climate change and agriculture, with the presence of researchers with national and internationally recognized work. In 2020, the approach to current issues will be strengthened, at various times throughout the year, in different formats, with the participation of a wide range of experts.
The theme of Ovibeja will join, integrated way, the topics to be addressed at the Second Congress Luso-Spanish Extensive Livestock that, at a date yet to be defined, will take place in Beja, a shared organization between ACOS, Union of ADSs Alentejo and Spanish entities of Andalusia and Extremadura related to animal production.
With a number of initiatives that are being defined, the Organizing Committee of Ovibeja tries to show the active role of ACOS - South Farmers Association, not only among its associates around the Sul do Tejo, and the community in which it operates and also on the participants and visitors of Ovibeja. The fair is a result of a work throughout the year, an example being the new ACOS project +, presented at the 36th Ovibeja, in order to enhance the communication on rural and sustainable agriculture. To publicize the agricultural reality, bringing it closer to citizens, share information, knowledge and new challenges are some of the purposes.
This year the Ovibeja surpassed the number of visitors compared to 2018 and registered as a very fruitful a central theme on climate change and agriculture. Was, as usual, stage of the visit of all political parties, candidates in the European elections and government officials. It was inaugurated by the President of the Republic, accompanied by the Minister of Agriculture, He said the national and international projection of the fair puts Beja on the map and praised the farmers and the new form of agriculture in the region.
