Applications are now open to send samples to the 11th International Contest of Extra Virgin Olive Oils – CA Ovibeja Award.
Or contest, organized by ACOS – Association of Southern Farmers, in collaboration with Casa do Azeite, is open to individual producers, producer associations, duly registered cooperatives and packaging companies, both national and international, from any olive oil producing country. Entries can be made until 25 March.
There are five categories placed in suffrage: Intense Fruity Green, Fruity Green East, Light Green Fruity and Ripe Fruity belonging to the campaign 2021/2022. A new category was opened to countries in the southern hemisphere that can compete with oils from the 2020/2021, because of the difference in harvest season.
the international jury, made up of about 30 elements from different countries, is chaired by José Gouveia, world olive oil specialist. The olive oil samples present in the competition will be appreciated at the beginning of April and the prizes will be delivered during the 38th Ovibeja scheduled for the week of 21 a 25 April.
