Update: PCP talks about the employee leaving of her own free will and who remains linked to the party.

Just a few days before the Portuguese Communist Party Congress (PCP), an employee linked to the Regional Directorate of Beja (Dorbe) stopped working for the party due to a split with the local leader.

Carolina Medeiros, of 59 year old, responsible for the municipalities of Serpa and Alvito, abandoned his place in the PCP, facing the different with Manuel Valente, the person responsible for Dorbe, who has been in office for two years. Born in Salvada, county Beja, the communist activist started working for the party in Moita, and then came to live in his land.

Over the years of work for the PCP, no Beja district, was responsible for municipalities such as Aljustrel, Moura, Ferreira do Alentejo and Vidigueira, having been linked to some municipal victories of the communists.

Contacted by Lidador Notícias, Carolina Medeiros does not comment on the matter, to avoid creating cleavages, justifying that “the party is more important than the peopleâ€, summed up.

The PCP Press Office was asked about the situation, it was mentioned that “regarding internal issues of the PCP. The party confirms that Carolina Medeiros decided, of your own initiative and will, leave the Party staff, remaining integrated and with tasks in the Directorate of the Regional Organization of Beja”, justified.
