Updated: The court today ordered the pre-trial detention of two men, of 25 and 50 year old, detained by the Judiciary Police (PJ) in the district of Beja for alleged possession and computerized disclosure of files containing pornography by minors, was revealed today.
The suspects, detained on Tuesday, today were present to the judicial authorities, who applied the most severe coercion measure to them, Probation, pending the development of the processes, said PJ source.
Initial news: Two men, of 25 and 50 year old, were detained by the Judicial Police in the district of Beja, Alentejo, for suspected possession and computerized disclosure of files containing pornography by minors, it was this Wednesday revealed.
In a statement the Judiciary Police (PJ), through South Board, explained that the arrests took place in the context of Operation Primavera, combating the pornography of minors, was developed on Tuesday, Alentejo.
According to the online edition of the JN, “the operation consisted of conducting home searches” that culminated in the seizure of various computer material, as “computers, external drives and mobile phones”, as well as in the arrest of the two suspects, that are today being presented to the judicial authorities, for the application of enforcement measures.
PJ source contacted by Lusa stated that the men were detained “no Beja district” by “suspected child pornography”.
According to the police statement, “hundreds of files were seized (images and videos) containing minors – at a young age – in explicit sexual acts with adults, having identified an operating system that allows anonymous browsing on the Internet”.
“The existence of multiple accounts for accessing different services on the Internet was also detected”, added the PJ.
The criminal investigation police also pointed out that they had “elements that strongly indicate that, at least, one of the detainees created profiles on social networks with the indication that he was a minor, for the purpose of establishing sexual conversations and sharing files with minors”.
Second to PJ, “investigations are continuing with a view to finding other actors, residing in national territory or in other countries, related to pornographic file shares involving minors”.
