Pomarão/ Mértola: Festival of the Fish River 7 and 8 April.
The old mining port of Pomarão welcomes us days 7 and 8 April edition of the VXI River Fish Festival, an event that celebrates the values ​​and southern cuisine of wealth.
muge, lampreia, Saboga and eels, confecionados in various ways, are some of the featured delicacies. In addition to the river flavors, the Festival of Rio do Peixe is a meeting point for other flavors of the county, as the traditional bread, cheese, sausages and wine.
This year bet, once again, in popular music, highlighting the role of "Leo and Leandro", Saturday night, in river trips, the walk, in sport fishing and mountain bike race. At midnight will take place the traditional fluffy fireworks, that follows a ball Miguel Oliveira.
The second day of the Rio do Peixe Festival starts with a workshop dedicated to new nautical tourism opportunities in the Guadiana river. Traditional music with the presence of several groups will accompany the snacks throughout the day.
The organization of River Fish Festival is organized by the Municipality of Mértola, in collaboration with the Association of Hunters Braciais, Cultural and Recreational Association of the Holy Spirit, the Guadiana Valley Business Association, do Ayntamiento of Grando, Mayor of Alcoutim, Santana People's House Cambas, the Recreation Center and Cultural Picoitos / Special Events Committee, Club Sport Fishing "Friends of the Guadiana" Mértola and Santana Parish Council of Cambas.
