Portel: Minister of Justice points tomorrow (Saturday) the first year of governing exercise.

This visit takes place on the date that marks the first year of governing exercise in the area of ​​justice and announced the reactivation of Portel Court already 2 January 2017. This court is one of the 20 to be reactivated under the adjustments to the law of the judicial system announced.

The new amendments introduced by Government, aimed at correcting serious proximity deficits resulting from the reform approved in 2013, mainly in the area of ​​family and minors and in trials for crimes punishable by imprisonment of up to 5 year old, facilitating access to justice by citizens on whose behalf it is exercised.
It was during a visit to Portel, in 24 May, the Minister of Justice, Francisca Van Dunem, He talked about the reopening of the courts, for “greater rapprochement of peoples to justice”.
The reactivated courts are the Sever do Vouga (Aveiro), Penela (Coimbra), Portel (Évora), Monchique (Lighthouse), Meda (Watch), Fornos de Algodres (Watch), Bombarral (Leiria), Cadaval (North Lisbon), Ferreira do Zêzere, Training and Golegã (Santarém), Boticas, Murça, Mesão Frio and Sabrosa (Vila Real), Tabuaço, Armamar and Resende (Viseu) and Paredes de Coura (Viana do Castelo).

It is also proposed to standardize the nomenclature of jurisdictions, replacing the current instances and sections for judgments, because it is considered that this is a more common and easier designation to identify citizens.
It is recalled that in Beja County, the Beja Court there is the Central-Instance Section Civil and Criminal, the Central-Instance Section Family Children (Ferreira moved to the Court of Alentejo), the Central-Instance Section of Labor and Local Instance-Criminal Section. In the same way, adapts the judicial year to the calendar year, in order to meet the international bodies to which Portugal reports and the usual statistical cycles.
