PS: Dinis Cortes is the new president of the Municipality of Beja.


A lista B, headed by Dinis Cortes, yesterday won the elections for the PS de Beja Political Commission, defeating Rui Marreiros.

Dinis Cortes, got 50% of the vote, of 131 activists who voted, having Rui Marreiros achieved 48%, Having logged 2% invalid votes, succeeding Paulo Arsénio as president of the socialist structure, the next two years.

Bartholomew Guerreiro, also members of the B list was elected as Coordinator of the Beja Section, with 505 of the most votes 35 that the opponent of the A list.

For her part, Olga Sousa was elected Coordinator of the Municipal Structure of Socialist Women, which topped the only competing list with 78% of the vote.

In the remaining socialist municipalities in the district of Beja, David Carapinha was elected (Aljustrel), Antonio Boot (Almodovar), Joaquim Rasgadinho (Alvito), António José Brito (Castro Verde), Júlia Baltazar (Cuba), Luis Pita Plum (Ferreira do Alentejo), Luis Martins (Mértola), Diogo Saraiva (Moura), Ricardo Cardoso (Odemira), Marisol Afonso (Ourique), Manuel Soares (Serpa) and David Borges (Vidigueira).

In Barrancos the elections were postponed to November, being the only candidate Miguel Escoval.

After the municipal elections, takes place, a 5 November, the election of the president of the Baixo Alentejo Federation of PS, Nelson Brito's re-election has already been confirmed.
