PS: Socialist enable parliamentary discussion of the employment situation in Somincor.
The employment situation in Somincor will be the subject of parliamentary hearings, that party or PS, of the Government of brackets, enabled.
Following a contact maintained with union representatives of workers in the National Assembly, the Socialist Party enabled the parliamentary hearing of the Minister of Labor, Solidarity and Social Security, Vieira da Silva, the Inspector General of the Authority for Working Conditions and the union workers Somincor on the employment situation in the mines of Neves-Corvo, in Castro Verde.
With sense of balance and safeguard the interests at stake, for people and for regional development, nothing like trying to clarify the situation regarding the observance of labor legislation in an important infrastructure for the region's economy and local development, regional e nacional.
The favorable vote of the Socialist Party enabled the approval of the application filed by the parliamentary group of the PCP on the situation of workers of Somincor – Sociedade Mineira de Neves-Corvo, SADDLE, subsidiary of Lundin Mining, with the request to conduct hearings with urgency.
Pedro do Carmo, Deputy to the National Assembly elected by the Beja circle, explained that “all we did for this parliamentary initiative was implemented, creating an opportunity to assess the situation denounced by the unions in the light of the legislation in force”.
Without prejudice or ideological deviations, important to clarify the situation in one of the most important companies in the mining sector in Portugal, with a key role in national exports, important pillar for economic growth that has been recorded in Portugal.
Only economic growth enables the generation of wealth, for the state and for private, allowing a political line of redistribution and restoring the rights of workers who have been pursued by the Government of the Socialist Party, from 2015.
