PSD: Rui Rio wins elections and renews term as president.


In the district of Beja the victory was for Paulo Rangel, which had the support of the president of the District, Gonçalo Valente. JSD supported Rui Rio, who accused that the overwhelming majority of leaders went in a certain sense by “personal interests” and not “for the interest of the party”.

The current leader of the PSD, Rui Rio, and MEP Paulo Rangel disputed this Saturday for the presidency of the party, in direct elections with close to 46 a thousand militants who could vote.

With 337 subscribers, Beja was one of the districts with the lowest electoral weight in these elections. According to the PSD website, to 22,50 hours, these were the numbers:

in the victory speech, Rui Rio attributed the same to base activists, justifying that “is the victory of the base militants”, stated, considering that there is a divorce between the leaders and the bases. In turn, the defeated candidate, Paulo Rangel guaranteed that he will give Rio its “loyal and effective collaboration”, whereas this internal election “reinforced the legitimacy of the PSD leader”, being confident that the election will have “positive consequences” for the party in the legislative.

In the district of Beja, remember that on social networks, Gonçalo Valente, President of PSD Beja District, addressed party activists and friends and expressed his personal support for Paulo Rangel, justifying “recognize your preparation to be prime minister”, and that its binding spirit “made me believe it was possible again”, ending the publication with a strong appeal: “let's change the party, let's win the country!”, concluded.

The JSD District of Beja, it came later to the pubic and in a statement advocating that it be "revised" by the “values ​​that are so dear to the PSD, like the fellowship, integrity and an unmistakable patriotic sense”, arguing that he was the leader for the party and the best option for future Prime Minister”, rematavam.

District Assembly of Beja
