PSP: Training Course for Owners of Dangerous and Potentially Dangerous Dogs.


The District Command Beja PSP (CD Beja), will do next day 13 from May of 2024, entre as 09,00 e as 13,00 hours, the Training Course for Owners of Dangerous and Potentially Dangerous Dogs.

The PSP clarifies that “It is possible to take the course if you intend to own a dog of a breed considered potentially dangerous, training is lifelong”.

There is no registration limit, the total cost of the course is 46,83 € (course and certificate issuance). PAP accepts applications for this course until Friday, since the course is next Monday. However, it also accepts registrations all year round., As a rule, there are two training courses per year.

Decree-Law no. 315/2009, of 29 October, in its current wording given by Decree-Law no. 9/2021, of 29 January, defines as dangerous any animal that has: bitten, attacked or offended a person's body or health, seriously injured or killed another animal outside the keeper's property, been declared as such by its holder to the parish council of its area of ​​residence and been considered as such by the competent authority due to its aggressive behavior or physiological specificity.

The aforementioned Decree-Law defines as potentially dangerous any animal that, due to the characteristics of the species, aggressive behavior, jaw size or power, may cause injury or death to people or other animals, namely dogs belonging to the following breeds, or resulting from crossings with them: Brazilian Fila Dog. Argentine Dane. Pit bull terrier. Rottweiller. Staffordshire terrier americano. Staffordshire bull terrier e Tosa inu.
