The teacher was convicted of 14 crimes of child sexual abuse, a crime of pornography, a crime of mistreatment perpetrated against five students aged 9 and 12 year old.
Jerome appealed the sentence to the Court of Évora ratio that "validated in part the appeal" and reduced the sentence 2 year old, setting the same in 16 years in prison. Not satisfied the accused appealed to the Supreme Court (STJ) who did not accept the appeal and confirmed the decision of the TRE, in other words, Jerome will have to meet 16 years in prison.
The defendant came to court accused of 534 crimes of child sexual abuse, but the judges only gave Collective 14 as proven, more porn and ill-treatment. The defendant was also disqualified from practicing the profession or any other public office during 15 year old, having yet to pay 53 thousand euros in compensation to victims.
Jerome fell under suspicion also pointed to the accused as the author of other abuses in ATL at school Mario Beirão, in Beja, but not out, investigated by the Judicial Police.
