Administrations of the Baixo Alentejo Local Health Unit (ULSBA), in Beja, and the Hospital of the Holy Spirit of Évora (HESE), are grappling with two administrative actions by Banca Farmafactoring SPA-Sucursal in Portugal (BBF Banking Group), that aim to collect debts that surround the 242 thousand euros.
The administrative actions filed by the BBF Banking Group against the two public corporate entities (EPE's), filed with the Administrative and Tax Court (TAF) Beja, with the defendant ULSBA being charged with the debt of 116.895,49 euros and HESE the value is slightly higher, 124.641,87 euros.
The debts of Alentejo health units result from the purchase of ugly credits by the BBF Banking Group, a bank specialized in providing financial solutions for companies that supply the public sector. In practice, it translates into the purchase of debts from companies that work with the National Health Service (SNS) and Public Administration, and suffer payment delays, beyond the normal contractual terms.
The Lidador News (LN) questioned the two Boards of Directors, both acknowledging the existence of debt claim processes filed by the BBF Banking Group, not wanting to come forward with any comments.
From ULSBA they justified that “the process is in progress and being monitored by the Legal and Litigation Service, waiting, serenely, the sentence the court hands down.”. On the part of HESE, they stated that “it was contemplated with the debt claim procedure. Recognition depends on legal analysis, who will present a defense at its own headquarters”, concluded.
What was not answered was the reason why BBF Banking Group filed the lawsuits.
