BFF Bank-Branch in Portugal, bank specializing in debt collection claims more than 4 million to ULSBA (Beja) and Holy Spirit Hospital (Évora), SNS units.
The Portuguese branch of BFF Bank, a finance company based in Italy that buys debt from government suppliers, moved forward with nine lawsuits in the Administrative and Tax Court (TAF) Beja, against the Local Health Unit of Baixo Alentejo (ULSBA), in Beja, and the Hospital of the Holy Spirit of Évora (HESE), to collect debts amounting to 4.021.183,77 euros.
The administrative actions brought by BFF Bank against the two public corporate entities (EPE's), and the defendant ULSBA is charged with the debt of 1.188.154,30 euros, two actions, and to the HESE the value is of 2.883.029,47 euros, seven shares. The largest share is directed at ULSBA in the amount of 1 080 986,82 euros.
Last day 20 March, the Lidador News (LN) revealed that they had filed with the Administrative and Tax Court (TAF) Beja, with the defendant ULSBA being charged with the debt of 116.895,49 euros and HESE the value is slightly higher, 124.641,87 euros.
On the occasion, LN questioned the two Boards of Directors, both acknowledging the existence of debt claim processes filed by BBF Bank, not wanting to come forward with any comments.
From ULSBA they justified that “the process is in progress and being monitored by the Legal and Litigation Service, waiting, serenely, the sentence the court hands down.”. On the part of HESE, they stated that “it was contemplated with the debt claim procedure. Recognition depends on legal analysis, who will present a defense at its own headquarters”, concluded.
What was not answered by either institution was the reason why BBF Bank filed the lawsuits.
