Serpa: firefighters receive “birthday gift” three new vehicles.


The Humanitarian Firefighters Association Serpa Volunteers celebrated last Wednesday, day 18 July, its 39 anniversary, with a party where they were presented three new emergency vehicles.

Tomé Pires, Mayor of Serpa, attended, and reported on the authority's support for this important institution, namely the annual amount of the cooperation agreement between the two entities, that "by the end of this year, should supplant 100 a thousand euros".

On this occasion we were presented three new vehicles, two ambulances and a tactical tank vehicle forest, with the municipality of Serpa contributed to the acquisition of two of these vehicles, namely the acquisition of a patient transport ambulance, in about 20 thousand euros (next to 50 percent of the final price) and the acquisition of tactical tank vehicle forest, in about 34 thousand euros.

According to the president of the direction of the Humanitarian Association of Voluntary Firemen Serpa, José Luís Pires, it is a "very important vehicle" and that "did not exist in the enterprise", since it can supply other vehicles in the course of a fire, avoiding the withdrawal of combat vehicles to supply.

This acquisition follows the approval of an application made by the association to POSEUR, for the purchase of this tactical forest tank l, totaling 168 900 euros. The contribution of this application is 80 percent, and the Municipality of Serpa has pledged to tackle the remaining amount (next to 34 thousand euros).
