Serpa: Alentejo Cheese Fair from today to Sunday.


The 22nd edition of the Alentejo Cheese Fair takes place on 24, 25 and 26 Feb., at the Serpa Fair and Exhibition Park, with free entry.

Of particular note is the 7th edition of the competition “The Best Cheese at the Alentejo Cheese Fairâ€, to which all the cheeses present can compete.

With one hundred and forty registered exhibitors, the Fair welcomes producers from all over the country with Protected Designation of Origin cheeses (DOP) Serpa, Azeitão, withe Castle, Évora, Women, Serra da Estrela, the Spanish DOPs Mehon-Menorca and Manchego, cheeses from the island of Minorca, Galicia, Cádis and Malaga, and several other national and international cheeses, famous and recognized quality.

The best regional products, filled, olive oil, wine, mel, traditional sweets, nuts, weaving, cutlery and varied handicrafts will also be present. The various taverns will offer a sample of local cuisine and snacks.

Activities in the field of agriculture and livestock, like cheese making workshops, sheep show, clipping demonstrations, dog show and competition, ÃŽle de France sheep competition, take place over the three days of the Fair.
