The Municipality of Serpa will proceed to the launch of the "Minutes of the VIII Meeting of Archeology Peninsular West", on 28 of September, by 18.00 hours, in the multipurpose room of the Municipal Museum of Archeology - Serpa Castle.
This is an issue of the Municipality of Serpa, in CD-ROM format, which included the editorial coordination of the Regional Directorate of Culture Alentejo, and brings together the contributions presented at the scientific meeting, held in Serpa and Aroche (Spain), in 2014.
This meeting was attended by more than 150 registered participants and were brought about 80 communications and posters that reflected the reality of archaeological research carried out in the South West Peninsular, on both sides of the border.
We recall that the "Archeology Meetings of the Peninsular West" are held from 1994, of which have already taken place nine editions, in various locations in the Alentejo, Algarve, Extremadura and Andalusia, X being scheduled meeting Zafra (Spain) in 9, 10 and 11 November this year.
These meetings seek to join experts in the field of archaeological heritage that focus their research in the vast region of Peninsular Southwest, to constitute as a space for presentation and discussion of ideas and the enhancement of the development of common projects.
It is an initiative included in the commemorative program that the city developed under the European Cultural Heritage Year, that is celebrated in 2018, and the European Heritage Days, which this year focus on the theme "Sharing Memories".
