Expansion of the electrification of the Sierra de Serpa. City Council establish cooperation protocol with EDP.
The Serpa City Council approved, at its last meeting (realizada a 9 January), the proposed cooperation agreement with EDP aimed at electrification more 25 housing in the Sierra de Serpa.
The protocol provides that the EDP reimburse them with 85 percent, falling to the Town Hall and the owners pay 15 percent of the total, or it corresponds to about 83 thousand euros.
Electrification of the Sierra de Serpa, whose first phase started in 2012, included the electrification of more than 200 homes and farms, and this expansion of the network is one of the Municipal Executive's objectives, which has been holding meetings with the granddaughter of the Residents Association and the Pulo do Lobo, as well as the EDP.
For the city, the electrification of the Sierra is synonymous with development of the municipality, since it allows people and companies to fix that territory. In this matter, We remember that the City Council has been focusing on improving access to that territory, particularly with the paving of the Municipal Road 514 Serpa linking the Headwaters Valley Burnt and construction of the Municipal Road 520, connecting the Serpa Paymogo (Spain).
