Serpa: Santa Casa accused of being a “bad payer” by the Union.


The Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Serpa repeatedly, does not pay the due date within the legal period, accuses the Union of Nurses of Portugal.

The accusation was made in a statement issued by the Regional Directorate of Alentejo of the Sindicato dos Enfermeiros Portugueses. (SEP) which states that "he was aware of the non-payment of salaries within the legal period", at the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Serpa. The SEP reminds that “the payment must be made until the last day of each month. This has happened repeatedly.”, justify.

The Portuguese Nurses Union says it has already sent a request for clarification – urgent to Santa Casa, and informed the Alentejo Regional Health Administration (ARS), to the Baixo Alentejo Local Health Unit and to the Ministry of Health, “because these entities have an agreement for Santa Casa to manage Serpa Hospital”, and this deal, second or SEP, “provides for the payment of funds by the ARS, that apparently Santa Casa does not receive in due time (“unofficial” information)", Remata.

“This situation is unacceptable because nurses (and other workers) who fulfill their work obligations are entitled to receive their salary within the legal term”, accuses the union.

The Regional Health Administration of Alentejo, the Baixo Alentejo Local Health Unit and the Ministry of Health itself “cannot ignore what is happening” at Hospital de Serpa, completes the union structure of nurses.
