Serpa: Six of 19 com infetados Covid 19, data as recovered.
The Municipality of Serpa revealed this Wednesday that six of the 19 infected in the county, were recovered today, among them an octogenarian user of the Vila Verde de Ficalho home.
The information of the “Cidade Branca” city council comes after the communication received from the Public Health Unit.
The mayor's president assumes that the municipality as a whole has 19 positive cases, 18 in Vila Verde de Ficalho and one in the city of Serpa, welcoming “the good news that announced the recovery of the six citizens”, justified Tomé Pires.
The first alert happened on the so-called “day of lies”, 1 April, when the positive case of a woman from 80 year old, home user of the São Jorge e Senhora das Pazes Social Center, in Ficalho, border town with Rosal de la Frontera (Spain) who had been admitted to the José Joaquim Fernandes Hospital the previous day, in Beja.
Four days later the municipality already registered 13 cases, twelve were located in the village of Raiana, and beyond the octogenarian, other cases would have resulted from a fraternization that occurred days before. A 9 April the county reached the peak of the pandemic and registered 17 cases, sixteen were living in Vila Verde de Ficalho.
The most striking case of the six recovered was that of the home user who was admitted to Hospital de Beja to 31 March, where she remained hospitalized until the 15 April. The octogenarian who was the first user of a home in the district of Beja to test positive for Covid-19, was also the first patient to be reported as recovered in the hospital unit in bejense.
The main factor controlling the expansion of the infection was the way in which the Municipality of Serpa attacked the situation since 11 March, day when the World Health Organization (OMS) declared the outbreak as a pandemic. Since the activation of the various plans, the creation of measures to refuse and combat the pandemic and social support. “All of these measures were designed taking into account the new difficulties of our citizens, of our society and our institutions ”, summarized Tomé Pires.
