This measure, adopted in June 2022, aims to standardize chargers used in smartphones, tablets, digital cameras, headphones and other electronic devices.
The implementation is being done in phases and, a partir de 28 next December, all electronic devices must use a USB-C charger, which was chosen as the universal standard. Starting from 2026, the universal charger requirement will also be extended to portable computers.
Manufacturers who do not comply with this rule will not be able to sell their products on the European market.
