The survey was carried out with 8 thousand employees of small businesses (divided equally between Americans and British) and the data shows that they wrote around 112 emails per week, spending just over five minutes with each.
Respondents also revealed that, despite the time spent, only a third of the emails they write (37%) get the attention they deserve. And there is 45% of respondents admitting that because they had not read an important email, ended up missing an important event (a meeting or a deadline, for example).
A report shared by the GSM Association indicates that 55% the world population (next to 4,3 billion people) have a smartphone as a mobile device.
The report also notes differences in the way people in different regions access mobile Internet. While 69% of cell phone users in North America, Southeast Asia and the Pacific use 4G devices, in Africa and the Middle East, 3G networks are still used.
There is also the important issue of connectivity, with the report indicating that 38% of people living in areas with mobile Internet coverage still do not have access.
Smartphones with screens capable of regenerating themselves could hit the market in 2028, according to CCS Insight analyst forecasts given to CNBC.
Experts expect manufacturers to launch the equipment within five years, which will have a nanocoating on the surface of the screens. This way, when scratched, the equipment is capable of generating a new material that reacts when exposed to air, managing to fill in the gaps on the screen.
Experts assume that the new technology “is not in the realm of science fiction” and that it is possible for it to be done.
