Tourism: In August, Alentejo had a hotel occupancy 85%.
The Alentejo is highlighted in tourist occupancy rate at the level of rooms, during the month of August. The room occupancy rate was 85% (more 1,6 p.p.) and the average price was in this month 96 euros.
According to the AHP Monitors Tourism, exclusive tool of the national data collection Hospitality monthly worked by AHP – Portugal Association of Hospitality, in August 2017 it is worth noting the growth of prices in all destinations, but the occupancy rate slows with the West destinations, Estoril, Lisbon, Blue Coast, Algarve and Madeira to have a negative variation.
In August 2017, the room occupancy rate decreased 0,1 p.p., compared to August 2016, reaching 89%. In terms of occupancy rates for tourist destinations, it is for the Algarve (93%), Azores (92%) Wood and (91%) the highest occupancy rate.

The RevPAR also increased by 7%, over the same month of the previous year, standing at 99 euros, with destinations Algarve (154 euros), Estoril (112 euros) e Lisboa (95 euros) to record the highest values RevPar. Cristina Siza Vieira, executive president of the Association of Portugal Hospitality, highlights “the growth of occupancy rate slowed, It's a fact, however we are very close to the 90% this indicator, which makes the values stabilize. What really concerns us is the length of stay in hotels which is very low and this month also decreased more. It is traditionally a short stay (about two days) and it suffered in some tourist destinations a steep descent, as was the case of the Azores (less 21%), Estoril and Alentejo (less 12%). There are destinations where the average stay does not exceed 1,5 days, so it is urgent to think of pull factors that serve to prolong the stay.”
MINHO

PORTO

In August 2017, hotel units in Coimbra had a room occupancy rate of 77%, representing an increase of 1,2 p.p. YoY. With increases in all indicators, especially the average price per occupied room and RevPar with 9% and 11%, respectively.
VISEU
The room occupancy rate was 65%, revealing an increase of 0,6 p.p. made of agosto of 2016. Analysis of the average price per occupied room highlight the rise 9%, over the same period last year, while RevPAR showed a growth of 10%, with 44 euros.
WEST
In August 2017, the room occupancy rate was 83%, showing a decline of 0,5 p.p. made of agosto of 2016. In the same period, the average price per room rose busy 10%, standing at 112 euros.
LEIRIA / FÁTIMA / TEMPLARS

In August 2017, the Azores tourist destination presented a room occupancy rate of 92%, showing an increase of 4,4 p.p., compared to the corresponding period previous. Average prices per occupied room available and were 86 euros and 79 euros, more 15% made of agosto of 2016.
