Tourism: ERT launches project "Transalentejo”, in the cities of Beja and Portel.


A Turismo do Alentejo / Ribatejo lança este fim-de-semana, o projeto “Transalentejo – percursos pedestres do Alqueva”, in the cities of Beja and Portel.

Entidade turismo_800x800Para assinalar a iniciativa, a Entidade Regional de Turismo juntamente com representantes das autarquias, da animação turística e das unidades de alojamento vão acompanhar os caminheiros que vão percorrer os trajetos “Azenhas e Fortins do Guadiana”, em Beja e “Amieira a Alqueva com o Lago a seus pés”, Portel.

O referido evento contempla a apresentação de um Guia que – composto por onze percursos pedestres, structured in the area of ​​influence of Lake Alqueva and the Guadiana River -, está editado em português e inglês, apresenta diferentes trilhos devidamente estudados, mapped, flagged, and enables walkers the opportunity to discover the diverse landscapes that make up the vast and rich natural and cultural heritage of Alentejo.

The Guide "Transalentejo - walking routes Alqueva", homologated by the Federation of Camping and Mountaineering Portugal, lovers of trekking find a detailed description of the path, and a summary of some of the points of interest and a map with the route of the track and points and marked interest.

Created in order to support the organized practice of hiking, the Guide - designed by Alentejo Tourism / Ribatejo, with the collaboration of the municipalities of the areas covered and the technical support of the Alentejo Inheritance Association and SAL - is available in print in tourist offices and housing units in the region and housed in www.visitalentejo.pt site.

Os onze percursos pedestres estão a ser comercializados através de programas turísticos que, promoted by various accredited operators - such as SAL - are developed in conjunction with the territory accommodation units.

O projeto envolve os concelhos de Borba, Alandroal, Mértola, Serpa, Beja, Portel, Mourao, Reguengos de Monsaraz, Canyons, Moura and Redondo.
