Feira da Terra is an organization of the Union of Parishes of Beja (Salvador and Feira) which is already in its VII edition, It takes place between Friday and Sunday, always being a strong commitment of this Union of Parishes, which results in visible growth, year after year.
It started as an event to promote vegetables from our parish, extended to our city, county and region, and, also to multiculturalism, increasingly visible in the territory.
The last year, the success of the bet on international showcooking, showed us that the event should go further, in the exhibition of traditions from various countries. The idea came to fruition and went to the execution phase, in close collaboration with Cáritas Diocesanas de Beja, with the Chamadarte Association, and several migrants who live in our city.
This way, in issue 2023 which starts next Friday, day 15 of September, was programmed as a fair where, in addition to the showcookings,, there will be African dance workshops, yoga and sale of products characteristic of various countries.
These new features combined with traditional concerts, to local and regional exhibitors, to snacks, to tournaments and sporting demonstrations, in collaboration with associations in our municipality, make this one of the most anticipated editions ever.
The fair takes place in the Beja Public Garden and on Friday, day 15, fair opening at 6pm and inauguration ceremony, at 6:30 p.m., first performance at 9pm and 30 m, com a banda musical PeekaBoo, at 11pm, Rumo ao Sul operates.
Saturday day 16, from 9 am to 30 am, Children's football tournament in the garden ring with Despertar Sporting Clube, CCD Bairro da Conceição, Beja Sports Club, and ACD Penedo Gordo, 15h Showcooking Cape Verde, 16h Showcooking Mozambique, 16h e 30 m handball capture training given by the Associação Cultural e Recreativa Zona Azul, 17h and 30m African dance workshop with the Camadarte Association, 18h, Trampoline demonstration with adapted gymnastics, with the Sports Academy of the City of Beja, 18h e 30m, judo demonstration with BVB Judo, the musical show starts at 9pm and 30m at Carraceiros, and at 11pm Baila Maria performs.
Sunday day 17 at 9:30 am Basketball demonstration in the garden ring given by Beja Basket, 11h and 30m Yoga class, 11h e 30 m face painting at Bandstand do Jardim, 15h Showcooking Indiana, 16h Demonstration of straw work at the Parish Council Tent given by Tereza Brinca, 17h Tr3s and Roda perform at 6pm group Coral RaÃzes do Cante de Cuba, at 7pm to close the musical lineup, the Children's group from Beja Rouxinóis do Alentejo performs.
The executive of the Union of Parishes of Beja Salvador and Santa Maria da Feira, met on Wednesday, day 6 of September, through President António Ramos and Secretary Bruno Sustelo, with the directors of the Higher Schools of Education and Higher School of Health, Professor Maria Inês de Campos de Sousa Faria and Professor Ana Maria Grego Dias Sobral Canhestro, respectively. This meeting focused mainly on, to check the availability of both parties, in future projects and partnerships, such as developing some activities taught in IPB curricular units, around structuring themes for the Union of Parishes. The Executive of the Union of Parishes of Beja Salvador and Santa Maria da Feira thanks the Polytechnic Institute of Beja for its willingness to collaborate with our parish.
During this week, the parish union's maintenance teams will clean and collect monos in all moloks and container garages, of the neighborhoods and streets of the parish, clean up the Conceição neighborhood, neighborhood of Moinhos, urbanization of Santa Maria, Quinta D'el Rey, neighborhood of Pelame, Carmo Hill and Esperança Neighborhood.
