IT IS “explosive” the situation in the home and center of Santa Luzia, property of Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Ourique.
"Are more 25 positive cases of covid-19 among users and employees of the Santa Luzia Home and Day Center ”. The news “fell like a bomb” in Ourique, when the totality of more than four dozen tests carried out on Sunday after a case in a patient was known.
During the afternoon of yesterday were known 7 cases among the institution's employees and in the early evening the positive results in 18 users, became another outbreak in a home, that left local and health authorities on alert.
At the Municipality of Ourique, a meeting takes place involving the mayor and municipal civil protection, Santa Casa da Misericordia de Ourique, Health and Fire Chief, to decide what measures to take to combat the outbreak.
The case was detected following an episode of hospitalization of a home user at Hospital José Joaquim Fernandes, in Beja, no Sunday, where a quick test was done that was positive.
The case detected an outbreak of covid-19 in a nursing home in Santa Luzia, municipality of Ourique. The home belongs to Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Ourique (SCMO) and there are eight infected, one user and seven employees.
Positive case known, SCMO management, the Municipality the Social Security and Health Authority, started to follow the situation closely and during the day of Monday tests were made to forty-four people, two dozen of which are users.
Yesterday afternoon, seven more positive cases were known, all in institution employees, which in addition to the home also has a Day Care and Home Support Center.
All the tests were missing, that involved users, to know the true extent of the outbreak and the measures to be taken, regarding home users.
