This week, there will be thirty-three emergency services working with constraints. Emergency Services at Beja Hospital and Castro Verde Health Centers, Moura and Odemira work fully between 17 and 24 of December.
The Executive Directorate of the National Health Service (DE-SNS) informed, this Saturday night, that there will be, from today until next Saturday, 67 specialties with constraints.
No total, means that there 33 emergencies across the country with constraints, because hospitals were unable to fill, in all, the scales.
The same number as last week. Difficulties in filling schedules are due to doctors' refusal to perform more than 150 overtime hours per year. Will be 50 units operating fully, said the organization, next week.
In Alentejo and Algarve, there is only one emergency operating with limitations in each of the units: the EspĂrito Santo Hospital in Évora and the PortimĂŁo Unit, respectively.
Situation in the Beja district
Local unit of the Lower Alentejo Health, EPE – Medical-Surgical Emergency Service
Baixo Alentejo Hospital Unit (Hospital de Beja) – Medical-Surgical Emergency Service – without constraints
Castro Verde Health Center – Basic Emergency Service – without constraints
Moura Health Center – Basic Emergency Service – without constraints.
Local Health Unit of the Alentejo Coast, TERM
Odemira Health Center – Basic Emergency Service – without constraints.
In the same statement, DE-SNS states that “continues to work on the functional and legal preparation of a referenced emergency model”. The organization is working on the second phase of the pilot project “Call ahead, save lives”, implemented in the municipalities of PĂłvoa de Varzim and Vila do Conde.
The results “can be evaluated in the short term, before considering the gradual form of its extension to other local health units”, clarifies the Executive Management of the SNS.
