The GNR seized 95 kilos of cannabis to the couple who lived and cultivated the “herb” in a place away from prying eyes, but it did not go unnoticed by the Guard investigating.
Military core of Criminal Investigation (NIC) of the Territorial Detachment of Almodôvar of the GNR, yesterday they arrested a couple who had in their house, in a place in the parish of São Barnabé, municipality of Almodovar, 95 pounds of cannabis.
Has learned the Lidador News (LN), the couple lived in a de facto union, the man 54 years and the woman 50 year old, dedicated themselves to the cultivation of the so-called “herb†which they later sold to third parties, who were in charge of selling them to consumers.
The place where about ten people live, is located at the confluence of the municipalities of Almodôvar and Silves, and the illicit activity of the two detainees went unnoticed by the other residents of the place.
This is one of the biggest seizures of cannabis in the last decade made by the GNR in the district of Beja, resulting from the direct cultivation of the narcotic product by traffickers.
The couple, who spent the night in Guard facilities, is suspected of the crime of drug trafficking and will be present this afternoon for the first judicial interrogation at the Court of Almodôvar for the application of the relevant coercive measures.
