A man died this Tuesday after falling from a float in the Carnival parade in Almodôvar, district of Beja.
According to a source from the District Command Relief Operations (CDOS) de Beja, death was declared on the spot, having the victim's body taken to the Institute of Legal Medicine.
Contacted by Lusa, the mayor of Almodôvar, Antonio Boot, stated that the fatal victim is a man, of 46 year old, who was part of the Motoclube da Vila Alentejana group participating in the carnival parade.
The mayor pointed out that the fall happened after the corso had ended and when the members of this group were still having fun.
The warning was given to 17 and 54 hours and to the place were 19 operational units and five fire engines from Almodôvar, GNR, Ambulance with Immediate Life Support (SIV) Castro Verde, the mobile psychological intervention unit and the INEM helicopter.
