Three men and a woman, aged between 23 and 40 year old, among which is a young couple who lived maritally, were detained yesterday by military personnel from the Criminal Investigation Nucleus (NIC) of Almodovar, for drug trafficking suspect.
To the entire group residing in the Alentejo village, besides hashish and cocaine, were seized about 20.000 euro cash.
The investigation lasted about two years and the GNR decided to act after the FACAL-Almodôvar Arts and Culture Fair, which took place between last Friday and Sunday and where the group was very active in the sale of narcotics.. The group resorted to suppliers in the Algarve and then sold the drug in Almodôvar, having in the searches carried out the four suspects were apprehended 884 hashish doses and 33,5 Cocaine, plus two knives with hash residue.
Despite the poor economic conditions, one of the detainees exhibited strong outward signs of wealth, a high-capacity Mercedes and an electric velocipede were apprehended. Six cell phones were also seized., a tablet and two precision scales.
In addition to Almodôvar's NIC soldiers, the GNR reinforced the operation with elements of the Criminal Investigation structure of the Territorial Command of Beja and of the Territorial Detachments of Almodôvar and of Intervention of Beja and Faro.
The four detainees are being presented to a Judge of Criminal Investigation of the Judicial Court of Almodôvar, for the application of enforcement measures, considered adequate.
