Two municipal deputies elected by the Socialist Party, joined the Opposition, led by CDU and failed the City Council's budget for 2021.
The Municipal Assembly of Barrancos (WITH) Saturday afternoon meeting rejected in ordinary meeting, the forward-looking documents of 2021 (budget and plans) not worth close to 6,5 million, presented by the Municipality of Barrancos (CMB).
Or blog "state of Barrancos" (eB) revealed that the document obtained only six votes, of eight PS elements present, and eight votes against (five of the CDU, one from CDS / PP-PSD and two from PS).
As confirmed by eB, this is the first time in the history of democratic local power, that the Municipality of Barrancos sees its budget rejected by the Municipal Assembly.
To the Executive chaired by the socialist João Serranito Nunes, two options remain. Reformulate the document and submit a new budget to AMB; or (re)re-approve the same document, submitting it a second time to AMB, in what will be understood as “an internal confrontation between socialistsâ€. However, until the approval of the budget of 2021, the budget for 2020, functioning the city council with twelfths.
From or 25 April 1974, João Serranito Nunes is the sixth Mayor of Barrancos, having been elected in the municipalities of 1 October 2017. He is the second socialist to lead the Raian city, the other was Nelson Brejano who presided over the 1 January 2002 and 22 October 2005, of the remaining four, José Gomes Escoval led the Administrative Commission and the other three were elected from the communist lists (FEPU or CDU), Carlos Durão, António Guerra and António Tereno.
