The Polytechnic Institute of Beja (IPBeja) is going through a troubled moment with the resignation of a Pro-president in the Presidency and eight departures from the Boards of the four higher schools of the institution.
The resignation request and departures were presented to the President of IPBeja, Maria de Fatima Carvalho (na photos), on Monday last, at the time there was a concern to spend this extended weekend so that during the next week the arguments could be settled and lead to some changes in positions.
The Lidador News (LN) found, next to the Polytechnic fountain, that João Paulo Barros, Pro-President for Digital Transformation and Pedagogical Innovation, asked for his resignation from office “due to disagreement with the president’s decisions”, what will happen to the eight directors of the Escolas Superiores Agrária, Education, Nursing and Technology and Management.
Aldo Passarinho, Pro-president for Image and Communication, confirmed that “there are frictions that are under consideration without a concrete decision”, adding that it is a case of “dissatisfaction and things that have to be resolved”, justifying that in the case of directors and sub-directors of schools “they cannot resign, why are named. Can, ask to leave and they will be exonerated”, finished.
Maria de Fátima Carvalho took office as president of the IPBeja in 30 November 2021 and a few months later saw one of the two vice presidents, Rogerio Ferrinho, resign from office, for disagreements with the leader of the presidency, having been replaced by Nuno Loureiro.
