The PSP’s Beja District Command issued a statement denying “that there was an assault on a student inside the Santiago Maior Basic School”, in the city Alentejo.
The Police justifies that through the agents of the "Escola Segura" it developed steps that allowed "to understand the contours of the occurrence".
In the document, the Police clarifies that “it was possible to identify the object used in the alleged aggression, as a handcrafted slingshot-type toy, which will have been used by some students to design from bushes”, justifying that so far and in relation to the situation described “no complaint has been formalized with our services”, concluded.
The PSP was alerted yesterday, two days after the case was discussed, for the alleged use of a taser pistol inside the Escola Básica de Santiago Maior via e-mail, in which the school's association of parents forwarded an email from a student's parent reporting the episode.
Margaret Patriarch, President of the Basic School Parents and Guardians Association 2/3 of Santiago Maior, in Beja, denounced yesterday, that on tuesday, “A student will have been hit in the body by a taser (electroshock gun) shot by another child”, situation that was transmitted to him by the person in charge of education of the 2nd cycle student, denounces that it reached the PSP and the City Council.
In the statement issued this Friday, to clarify the situation, the PSP of Beja takes the opportunity to ask those in charge of education and the school community so that “whenever they are aware of situations that they understand to be harmful to the rights of students, inform the security forces in a timely manner”, ended the District Command.
