In a statement, the Municipal Political Commission (CPC) of the PS gathered last night, chose unanimously, through
secret ballot, Paulo Arsénio as leader of the list in the local elections2021, in Beja county.
Is-is, according to the PS CPC “proof of recognition for the work carried out during the mandate” which is now approaching the end and “an unequivocal vote of absolute confidence to continue consolidating a future project for the Municipality of Beja”.
The CPC argues that “the evidence given and the achievements achieved” in this PS mandate, as well as the work developed under the leadership of Paulo Arsénio, “are the best proof of the path that must be followed and of the continuity” which will allow the consolidation of strong leadership, of truth and trust at the helm of the destinies of the district capital.
In addition to Paulo Arsénio, Victor Picado, Nuno Palma Ferro's candidacies are officially known, by the PSD/CDS Coalition and VÃtor Picado by the CDU, in the race for the presidency of the Chamber of Beja, which is led by the socialist re-candidate socialist.
In 2017, Paulo Arsenio succeeded 46,25% of the votes defeating and dethroning João Rocha (CDU), who achieved 37,61%, in what was the first electoral defeat of the then mayor of Beja and former leader of the serpent council. José Pinela Fernandes (PSD) reached 5,38%, José Pedro Oliveira (BE) 3,43% e LuÃs D’Argent (CDS) 3,19%.
