Beja: Alouette III helicopter Air Force suffers exercise in damage.


An air force helicopter, based at Air Base in Beja, suffered on Monday an accident during training, in the area Selmes, logging on to material damage to the aircraft, with the crew escape unharmed.

“It was during a training flight, by 15.20 hours, the helicopter Alouette III made a strong landing. It was to simulate a hard landing and this turned out to be stronger than expected”, He told Lusa source of the Air Force.

The same source, the aircraft suffered some damage, but the crew was unharmed. “We do not know the extent of damage, but the aircraft suffered damage preventing it from leaving the site by their means and will have to be removed by land”, He explained.

The Air Force makes clear that this type of training are carried out in isolated locations, not endanger the population, noting that the causes of the accident are under investigation.

The Chief of Staff of the Air Force, General Manuel Teixeira Roll, He has informed the Minister of National Defense of the incident.

Another accident Aloutte III

12 April 2007: a light helicopter – ALOUETTE III – Portuguese Air Force, suffered an accident, by 12.15 pm, near Selmes, in the municipality of Vidigueira. The accident occurred during a training flight, a normal desktop for these aircraft, stationed in Beja Airbase (BA11).

The two crew members of the aircraft were unharmed and were not registered any damage to property or to third persons. After the accident, the crew asked for support, radio, another ALOUETTE III Air Force, which went to the scene to collect, having been transported to notice in Health Care Air Force.
