A soldier from the GNR Territorial Post of Beja was bitten in the nose, early this friday, by an individual who was going to be subjected to a breath-alcohol test.
The case occurred when the aggressor, of 33 year old, martial artist, was going to be subject to the test and became violent and according to a GNR source, “pushed the soldier to the ground and then bit his noseâ€.
Lidador NotÃcias found that the guard, of 42 to, was transported to the Emergency Service of Hospital de Beja and later taken by the firefighters of the city to the Hospital of São José, in Lisbon, where he is undergoing a surgical procedure for facial reconstruction.´
The aggressor is currently being present before a Criminal Instruction Judge at the Court of Beja, in order to apply the coercive measures.
Contacted the Division of Communication and Public Relations of the General Command of the GNR, it was said that “a statement will be issued explaining the situationâ€, justified.
