A heavy of goods carrying about 20 tons of melons, crashed and flipped sideways, to early afternoon this Friday on IP2, in the south-north direction, at the Air Base Roundabout (BA) 11 about what 3 kilometers from the urban limit of the city of Beja.
The driver was transported to the Emergency Department of Hospital José Joaquim Fernandes, in Beja, unaware of their state of health.
The accident occurred close to 12,00 hours when the vehicle entering the roundabout and making the right turn load of melons, unconditioned, gave in and caused the vehicle to tip over, breaking the guard rails, spreading the load on a bike path, out of IP lane 2.
Traumatized, the driver was unable to explain to the Beja Fire Department that they were the first to reach the victim, who was, where did it come from and where it moved to.
The Lidador News (LN) found that the vehicle, which has the periodic inspection record "in red", is registered in the name of an individual residing in Verdelho-Achete, in the municipality of Santarém, where he was going after carrying the melons in the Beja region.
At the crash site were 16 operating the Fire Beja Volunteers, VMER, GNR and Roads Plain. Guard soldiers are on site directing traffic, which is processed by a single lane in the south/north direction, until the arrival of a crane to place the truck on the road and then be towed by an emergency room.
