An outbreak of covid-19 at the Santa Casa da Misericórdia home in Vila Alva (SCMVA), municipality of Cuba, has already caused the death of a user of 72 year old. There 68 infetados, 56 users, four of which were admitted to the Hospital de Beja and 12 officials.
Able to 90 users, the home has in total 84 users and 62 officials, having the outbreak been detected by an employee who tested positive in the past day 24 of September, having, in a first phase, resulted in 53 positive cases, which resulted in the death of a septuagenarian.
The entire community of the institution was tested again yesterday and this number rose to 68 infetados, and two of the employees tested positive, will return to service in the next few hours. The four users who are hospitalized in the Covid Infirmary of Hospital José Joaquim Fernandes, in Beja, "do not show symptoms of great concern. It's more of a follow-up situation", justified João Maria Santos, SCMVA provider.
The head of the institution referred to Lidador NotÃcias (LN) who believes that “the worst will be over. Users are recovering well and without major symptoms. Infected users are isolated, we restrict contacts as much as possible to have the situation under control", finished.
According to the latest data published by the City Council of Cuba and referring to 1 October, "the county presents a very high risk, with log 60 last us cases 14 days, 37 of which referring to the first day thereof". Since the beginning of the pandemic, 22 deaths in the municipality, most of which resulted from an outbreak that occurred in the Santa Casa da Misericordia de Cuba home.
