Ferreira do Alentejo: Outbreak of covid at the São Barnabé Foundation home.


There are almost three dozen, the infected users in the institution's home. The revelation was in a communication from the mayor of the municipality, Luís Plum.

There is an outbreak of covid-19 in the home of the Fundação de São Barnabé, in Ferreira do Alentejo, with 29 infected users, who are confined to the institution's premises.

The revelation was made by Luís Pita Ameixa, president of Ferreira do Alentejo City Council, in a communication recorded and transmitted on the facebook page of the Municipality, where do you report the outbreak.

“I spoke with the president of the Foundation, who assured me that the situation is under control and all infected users, in addition to being isolated from the rest, are asymptomatic.. The entire household population is already fully vaccinated”, revealed the mayor.

Luís Ameixa justified that with the outbreak at the Foundation’s home “on this day 5 October, the county has a total of 62 infetados, a number that is too high. The situation has been getting worse day by day.”, ended the mayor.

In the communication, the mayor of Ferreira do Alentejo did not reveal how many users the institution has and whether among the employees(as) there are infected.

The Foundation is based in São Barnabé, municipality of Almodovar, and explores other units in Beja, Moura, Almodovar, Quarteira and Pombal and has projects to advance in Castro Verde, Évora and Faro.

Another outbreak in the Municipality of Cuba

The last known outbreak of covid-19 was triggered in the home of Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Vila Alva (SCMVA), municipality of Cuba, which last Thursday already caused the death of a user of 72 year old. There 68 infetados, 56 users, four of which were admitted to the Hospital de Beja and 12 officials.

Able to 90 users, the home has in total 84 users and 62 officials, having the outbreak been detected by an employee who tested positive in the past day 24 of September, having, in a first phase, resulted in 53 positive cases, which resulted in the death of a septuagenarian.
