A chemical spill claimed three lives, one severe and two mild, this Thursday afternoon in a laboratory at the Polytechnic Institute of Beja, confirmed to JN the Assistant Command of the Volunteer Firefighters of Beja.
The three injured investigators, men aged between 30 and 40 year old, were taken to Beja Hospital.
The seriously injured person had direct contact with the chemist, taking “burns all over the body”. The two minor injuries are being treated for toxic fume inhalation.
Firefighters are “contain the spill”, according to the same source. The warning was given by 15.25.
