Four positive cases of covid-19 for supporters, as a precautionary measure, the Municipality of Mértola decided to “end the services to which workers were assigned”.
The announcement was made in a statement by the municipality at the end of the afternoon on Wednesday, justifying that “in a concerted action” with the Local Health Unit of Baixo Alentejo, “During tomorrow, several tests will be carried out to detect possible contagion chains in the community ”, justified in the document.
The Municipality guarantees that "we will make available the update of the bulletin on the epidemiological situation of the county".
But positive cases are not left by the City Council, councilor Mário Tomé revealed that at Escola EB2 / 3 “a student tested positive and the class is isolated”, ensuring that the Municipality “is working and defining a strategy to tackle the situation”, justified the mayor.
According to the data released by the municipality and referring to 27 November 10 active cases in the county, 4 in the parish of Espírito Santos and three each in the parishes of Mértola and Santana de Cambas. The council also justified that the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) “Has associated yet another case to the municipality of Mértola, dealing with a person who lives outside the same, presenting no risk of contagion to the population ”.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, a death has already been registered in the municipality of “Vila Museu”.
